About Suzy Daly (Child Counsellor for York Therapy Clinic)
Suzy Daly is one of our dedicated Child counsellors at York Therapy Clinic, providing warm and compassionate therapeutic support to children and young people navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges.
Suzy works with issues such as ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, and the complexities of life transitions across all ages.
She also has experience in supporting those within the LGBTQ+ community, offering an inclusive and affirming space for self-exploration and healing.

With over 500 clinical hours working with children and young people and 300 hours with adults, Suzy has built a wealth of experience across school, charity, and community settings.
She offers counselling for both children and young people struggling with emotional regulation, self-esteem, identity, and the impact of trauma.

Experience and Professional Background
Suzy has extensive experience working as an associate counsellor across North Yorkshire, offering counselling for children, young people in York, as well as her experience in working with adults with a range of difficulties, enabling her to see the bigger picture in people’s mental health journey.
Her experience in this area has equipped her with a strong understanding of the pressures that children can face at home, at school and with others, and how that can shape the emotional challenges children might face when older, enabling her to be an even more effective counsellor.

Personal Journey into Counselling
Suzy’s journey into counselling was shaped by her drive to develop a deeper understanding of mental health, resilience, and her interest in the power of supportive relationships with family and others.
Her understanding of the difficulties that people of all ages experience allows her to help her clients navigate challenges, and to connect with authenticity and empathy.
Suzy’s time working in schools and with families facing trauma also motivated her to train to a deeper level as a counsellor, combining her natural compassion with her professional skills to provide a safe and empowering therapeutic space.
Though Suzy often works with children and young people, she is also adept at working with adults, helping them to navigate the challenges that might come up tin their day to day life.
