Additionally, Jane incorporates a range of therapeutic tools, including traditional conversational approaches, within her child counselling sessions, to help children open up about their feelings and experiences.
By creating a warm and supportive environment, Jane helps children and young people find the words to express their emotions, understand their feelings, and feel more in control—ultimately fostering a greater sense of confidence and happiness.

She has worked with a range of organisations, including Local Authorities, people’s homes, and mother and baby units.
Additionally, Jane has also worked closely with marginalised communities, such as those affected by physical illness, travelling communities, and asylum seekers, developing a deep understanding of the unique challenges these groups face.

Her expertise ensures that each child or young person receives the most appropriate and effective support for their needs.
Background & Journey to Counselling
Jane’s journey into counselling began with her early career as a nursery nurse, which led to opportunities working as a nanny for well-known and affluent families abroad. However, she felt drawn to supporting those experiencing life’s challenges and wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
This passion guided her towards social work and, ultimately, counselling, where she has dedicated her career to helping children, young people, and families navigate difficulties and find hope and resilience.
As a result of her comprehensive background in working with children and families, Jane is particularly skilled in helping children open up and work through their difficulties whilst also supporting parents in any way needed.
Empathetic Approach to Counselling
Outside of her work, Jane has a love for travel, adventure, and experiencing different cultures, having spent a six-week journey through Africa at age 30.
She is also an avid dog lover, a fan of chocolate, and enjoys belly laughs, the cinema, and days spent at the beach.
As someone with dyslexia, Jane understands the challenges of navigating life with learning difficulties and brings this empathy into her work, helping children feel understood and accepted.
