About Claire Brown (Couples Counsellor for York Therapy Clinic)
Claire Brown is one of our specialist couples and relationship counsellors here at York Therapy Clinic, offering a safe and supportive environment to help you find a way through the difficulties that you may be facing within your relationship.
With her extensive experience as a couples counsellor, in York, Claire works together with those in all types of relationships, helping them to talk through thoughts and feelings whilst managing common issues. These might include working through affairs, attachment issues, anxiety, and more.
Claire offers an integrative approach to her couples counselling in York, and uses a wide range of theories and practices to help her clients whatever their circumstances – providing each person with their own individual and unique support, regardless of their issues.
Experienced Couples Counsellor
Claire has always been a good listener when people have needed somebody to talk to, and many of her past and current clients comment on her warmth during sessions.
Motivated by some life changing family events, Claire decided that the time was right to enter the field of counselling.
Claire worked to achieve certificates in Counselling Skills (Level 2) and Counselling Studies (Level 3) before achieving a Masters (Level 7) in Contemporary Relationship Studies to help her develop her skills in couples and marriage guidance counselling.
As a qualified counsellor, she is now able to take the time to support those clients that really need her help and experience, which she believes is as rewarding as anything could ever be.
For her continuing personal professional development, Claire works with relationship counselling service in York, Relate, as well as undertaking regular CPD and further training to develop her skills further.

In addition to relationship counselling and couples therapy, Claire also has experience working with children, young people and adults, offering bereavement support for both pre-bereavement and post-bereavement.
As bereavement can often affect all types of relationships, Claire works together with her clients to guide them through these difficult and emotional times.

When she is not supporting clients, Claire enjoys watching a variety of sports; anything from tennis to snooker. She loves switching off and looking after her own self-care needs by travelling to Spain and other delightful sunny spots, or by having a day at the races with friends and family

Claire Brown (Couples Counsellor) is registered with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists), ensuring safe practice is kept at all times.
