About Jemima Fisher (Counsellor for York Therapy Clinic)

Jemima Fisher is one of our compassionate and skilled counsellors at York Therapy Clinic, offering integrative counselling to adults with a wide range of problems.

With a tailored and holistic approach, she creates a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their challenges and achieve personal growth.

Jemima specialises in supporting women through a range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, menopause, loss & bereavement, infertility, motherhood, trauma, abuse, intimacy, relationships, disconnection, body image, and life transitions.

She also offer counselling for all gender identities who seek to address difficulties related to various challenges, offering an inclusive and supportive environment.

Jemima’s passion for her work is reflected in her commitment to ongoing professional development. She has completed training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed coaching, and systemic family therapy for couples counselling.

She is currently pursuing further qualifications in Women’s Trauma Therapy, exploring advanced approaches such as EMDR, IFS, EFIT, and Polyvagal Strategies.

Personal Background & Approach to Counselling

Jemima’s path to becoming a counsellor was deeply influenced by her own life experiences. Facing significant transitions and challenges in her own life, she embarked on a journey of personal growth to rediscover her identity and develop resilience.

Consequently, Jemima’s experiences have enabled her in being able to provide empathetic and effective support, and effective counselling, to help clients overcome a range of problems.

Jemima finds immense fulfilment in building meaningful relationships with her clients and witnessing their growth.

She believes that counselling offers an opportunity for individuals to develop self-compassion, self-awareness, and the confidence to make positive changes in their lives which lasts beyond counselling sessions and into the longer term.

Jemima Fisher (Counsellor) is registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
